Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CostEat handles information when you use the CostEat Android application and related services. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@costeat.com.
Information we process
- Account information, including your email address, account identifier, authentication sessions, and Google sign-in identity when you choose Google sign-in.
- Business content you enter, including organization details, recipes, ingredients, preparations, notes, suppliers, purchases, prices, margins, VAT values, and invoice details.
- Supplier details you enter or extract from invoices, such as supplier name, VAT number, phone number, email address, address, and notes.
- Subscription and billing information, including Google Play subscription identifiers, product identifiers, entitlement status, and billing events. Payment-card details are handled by the applicable payment provider and are not stored by CostEat.
- Diagnostic information if production diagnostics are enabled, such as error type, error context, stack trace, app version, and environment.
AI invoice scanning
If you choose AI invoice scanning, the invoice image you select is sent to CostEat's processing service and OpenAI to extract supplier, product, and price information. Only upload invoices that you are authorized to process. CostEat stores extracted invoice details needed to provide the service. CostEat does not currently store the original invoice image in its file storage.
Why we process information
We process information to create and secure your account, provide recipe and purchase-costing features, process invoice scans you request, maintain subscriptions, respond to support requests, protect the service, and diagnose technical problems.
Service providers
CostEat uses service providers to operate the product, including Supabase for application infrastructure and authentication, OpenAI for AI invoice extraction, Google Play for Android subscriptions, and email delivery providers for account emails. These providers process information as needed to deliver their services.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and business information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete a single-member account from the CostEat app. For deletion instructions, shared organization requests, or other privacy requests, visit Account deletion or email support@costeat.com.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. Contact support@costeat.com to make a request.
Security and international processing
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections and access controls. Our service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence, subject to applicable safeguards.
Updates
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will publish the updated version on this page and revise the date above.
